 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach,: Kirby Smith of Barrington "Lockport has some outstanding hitters who drive the ball plus they have long ball power. We feel fortunate that we were able to compete with them. I'm just happy that we got some big hits and Johnny (Austin) pitched a strong game. We have had hitters up the down the order. The way the ball carries here causes a problem for high school players. The depth is different for fly ball and can even effect cut off throws. "

Losing coach,: Jim Hall of Lockport "Congratulations to Kirby Smith and the Barrington kids. He's a classy guy. I even told my wife the other day he would be a good guy to lose to and she thought I was a little crazy.'

''The kids can hold their heads up high. Losing is part of baseball and we lost to a heck of a team. We figured we needed five runs to win this and as you can see we came up a little short.''
