Notes & Quotes

Quotes and Notes
Losing Coach, Mark Jackley, Mattoon, "Where did all the runs go? Vince Serafini (Lockport pitcher) did a great job. We are the kind of a team that gets runs in clusters. However, when we get picked off, it takes us out of our game. We just fell asleep on the bases. They always seem to shift into just the right position for our hitters. It's not tough to be motivated (for the 3rd place game). Our kids are excited. We will be as sky high as we were for New Trier yesterday ."

Winning Coach, Jim Hall, Lockport, "8 Walks, 2 hits... Vince (pitcher) did a heck of a job gutting it out but you could tell he was not comfortable. Getting that kid (Kessler) to fly out to right field, was the key to the game. This is what we worked for all year. You got to give the credit to Butch Martkeltz (pitching coach) for the excellent pitching. He's a big part of why we afare here. "
