Quotes and Notes Losing Coach, Mike Napoleon, New Trier, "They did a good job of putting the ball in play. Our kids showed a lot of character in getting back in the game. We were down by 5 with 6 outs left, and we did a great job tying it up. We just needed to finish the comeback. That was a key play at third by Wilson on the line drive. They hit our best pitcher - what can I say " Winning Coach, Mark Jackley, Mattoon, "Boy, what a game that was! We continue to hit well, but I was concerned that if we would have had to play an extra inning we would have been in a tough spot because our pitching is not deep. Give Jason Bryan credit (pitcher). He really kept the ball down. I didn't call the bunt in the 7th because we have strung hits together all season. We practice opposite field hitting all the time and our guys did a great job on that today. " |
