The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Desktop Publishing Department was recently honored by the National High School Sports Publication Awards (NHSSPA).
The IHSA’s Jackie Iverson and Kathy Topp were recognized for their work on the 2009 IHSA Class 3A/4A Boys Basketball Program, which received the NHSSPA’s highest honor, the Gold Award, in the Professionally Prepared Category.
Iverson and Topp were recognized by the IHSA Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 20 at the IHSA Offices in Bloomington, where they were presented their NHSSPA award.
“This is an extremely deserving honor for two very talented individuals,” said IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman. “In my work with the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations), I have had the opportunity to review high school publications from across the country and would put Jackie (Iverson) and Kathy’s (Topp) work up against any in the nation. From a style, design, and informational standpoint, our state final programs truly keep us on the cutting edge and represent the IHSA’s desire to be first-class in everything we do.”
The 3rd annual NHSSPA award program honored winners from the across the country in 18 different categories, including programs and media guides prepared by high schools, state associations and other professional design groups.
