Dr. Jeanette Nuckolls was appointed to the IHSA Board in August, 2009. 

She currently serves as principal at the University of Illinois Laboratory High School in Urbana.  From 2002 to 2012, Dr. Nuckolls served as the principal of Normal Community High School, where she was the first female high school principal and the first administrator of color in the McLean County Unit 5 School district, which was founded in 1948. 

In 1995 she was named the associate principal at the newly opened Normal Community West High School. Prior to returning to central Illinois, Dr. Nuckolls served as a dean of students at Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois.

Dr. Nuckolls is a native of Bloomington, Illinois.   She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, majoring in English and Secondary Education.  She received both her Master’s degree in special education and her Doctorate in educational administration from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
