Mr. Daniel Klett, principal of Wauconda High School was appointed to the Board of Directors in July of 2009.  He represents Division 2. Prior to that, Mr. Klett served on the IHSA Legislative Commission since 2004, representing District 6.  In addition, he served on the 2009 Strategic Planning Growth Action Team.

Mr. Klett’s involvement in interscholastic sports began at Glenbard East High School in Lombard where he participated in wrestling, tennis, and football.  After high school he became an IHSA official in baseball and later football.  After graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in physical education, Mr. Klett started his teaching career in 1991 at Lowpoint-Washburn Jr/Sr High School as a biology teacher.  While there he served as the head softball coach and jr. high volleyball coach, along with working as an IHSA football official.  He moved to Sullivan Middle School in 1993 as a biology teacher where he also served as the athletic director and volleyball coach.  Additionally he worked as an assistant football coach for the high school and as an IHSA baseball official.

After he completed his master’s degree in educational administration from Eastern Illinois University in 1997, he moved into administration as the Dean of Students at Woodstock High School from 1997 to 2002.  He remained involved in athletics as an assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, and assistant athletic director.  In 2002, Dan took the position as the assistant principal at Wauconda High School and two years later he assumed his current position as the principal for the Wauconda Bulldogs.

Mr. Klett and his wife Connie have two children and he remains involved in athletics by coaching the various youth sports his children participate in.
